Katherina is a character from the play The Tamming of the Shrew, her traits are:
-ill-tempered (gets annoyed of Petruchio easily, and her father)
-unmanagebale (hard to tame, especially for her new husband)
-bad-tempered (has a short fuse before she blows up at characters of the play)
Katherina is Baptista's daughter and Bianca's older sister, Katherina is known throughout Padua as a shrew, however, she has a much deeper character than the term would imply. She appears mean to Bianca, but only because she has continually been second in her father's affections. The transformation which she undergoes after she marries Petruchio is not one of character, but one of attitude.

The Chrysalids - Main Paragraph
David in the novel The Chrysalids is the main character. He learns at a very young age that he is different from most people his age. He has the ability of thought shapes, which allows him to take in shapes and interpret them into words and receive a message. It is like mind reading. The only difference is that he can receive them from the people who have the same ability but he cannot receive them form any random person. This ability causes many problems for David. David is able to overcome isolation form his family, face his enemies courageously and is willing to adapt to a new culture.
David has a very carring heart, this is clearly evident when David saves Sophie from the dirt Bank. Although he didn't know who Sophie was his first instinct was to help her. He helps her -once Sophie falls and gets her foot stuck in a ditch- because she is a young helpless girl. He is also very carring because when he dreams of his father killing a cow with a deviation, and then possibly killing Sophie he immediately becomes concerned of what his father may do if Sophies deviation becomes exposed.
David has the trait of being trustworthy because he keeps his deviation aswell as his friends deviations a secret, although he has mental deviation, which is easier to keep hidden he keeps his friends physical and almost obvious deviations a secret. This become evident early in the story when Sophie is first introduced, he sees that she has an extra toe. He is sworn to secrecy he will not tell anyone of her secret, espically his father- a Priest like figure in the community.
The fact that David is sneaky is very obvious. The reason David is sneaky is because while keeping everyones secret, he also has to lie. The only person he does tell the truth to is his Uncle, although even then not everything is completely truth. He also kills someone that follows Sophie and sees her with shoes off, he hits the man with a blunt object and the man bleeds to death. He keeps the death a secret for awhile.
The reasons of David being, carring, trustworthy, and lastly sneaky are clearly obvious throughout the novel The Chrysalids.

The Chrysalids - Petra Strorm
Petra Strorm is the sister of David, and is 6 years old by the end of the story. Petra is character with an incredible telepathic power. Her power outshines the rest of the telepaths, even in the world - speaks to the Sealand women. The Sealand woman is interested in her because of her amazing potency at such a young age. Petra’s immaturity can be seen by David and Rosalind’s. She is unaware of major issues by the end of the book. Her character traits are:
-Immature (involved around herself, cannot seem to understand bigger problems)
-Brave (contacts strangers witrh her telepathis powers)

Petra Strorm is an important

The Chrysalids - Rosalind Morton
Rosalind Morton is a character from the novel The Crhsyalids. Through the authors portrayal of Rosalind’s connection with David, and what she is willing to do to prove that love. As a telepath, Rosalind is unique like the rest. She is a young girl and growing into an adult woman, having learned that she is a telepath and mutant. Rosalinds character traits from the novel are:
-Trustworthy (David's closest friend, keeps his and her secret of being telepathic)
-Loving (cares for Petra, is mother-like towards her)
-Smart (wants to escape the Waknuk/the Fringes shares the plains with the group of telepaths)
Rosalind is a consistent character, she is supporting the other telepaths and desiring to escape. She is motivated by her need to escape detection and capture, and the need to get to a new place that accepts telepaths. She is important because at the very end of the book, Rosalind sheds her emotional armour and can be her true self in the new telepath society of New Zealand.

The Chrysalids - Joseph Strorm
Joseph Storm is the father of David and Petra. He is deeply religious and unyielding on the subject of mutations and blasphemy. I imagine Joseph looking like a farmer, wearing jean appereal that is tattered and muddy, being tall and hefty. He is also able to clean up well since he is considered the “Head Priest” of his religious group. Stopping everything to pray for forgiveness is a big thing considering that the deviations were not his. This shows that he does not want God or his religion to look down on himself. Joseph's character traits are:
-Cold hearted (has the ablillity to kill people for not being born the proper way)
-Strong willed (believes in his religon, preaches it, will do anything in his power to be god-like)
-Bad tempered (got angry at David for wishing he had another arm)
Joseph is important to this novel because if you are to live in Waknuk it makes it extremely easy to be controlled by your religion. Joseph was a very religious man towards his family and the community. In the community of Waknuk Joseph considers himself to be worthy enough to chose the fate of human life, ultimately choses the fate for others life.

The Chrysalids - Sophie Wender
Sophie Wender is a young girl in the novel The Chrysalids, physically she had a deveation seperating her from the "norm." she always wears shoes hidding the secret to the naked eye. She wears a dress with a large cross embalished into the material so she can fit in with the other ladies of the community. Once Sophie moves into the fringes she begins to wear moccassins with tatterd skirts and even goes topeless with hair drapping over her bare chest. Sophies personality traits are:
-Uptight (she does not trust people, Rosalind - or David at first )
-Thankful (she is thankful towards David for helping her become her own self)
-Mysterious (does not show much emotion, lives mysteriously with her parents)
Sophie Wender is significant in this novel because she one of the characters that escapes to the Fringes - a community full of deveations - David and a few of his relatives will eventually meet up with Sophie and she will show them the Fringes and introduce them to the new community she takes residence in.

The Chrysalids - David Strorm
David Storm from the novel The Chrsyalids is a young boy with a telepathic power which is the ability to speak to other people from the community that are also closeted telepaths. I imagine David being a short boy, with pale skin and brown hair but a very adventerous heart. Some character traits of Davids are:
-Carring (saved Sophie from the bank)
-Trustworthy (keeps his deveation secret, aswell as others)
-Sneaky (hides the truth from everyone except his uncle, kills someone)
David Storm is significant in the novel because he the is narrator of the story. David is one of a small group of youngsters who can communicate with each other via telepathyHowever, their community's theological prejudice against anyone who is abnormal means he and the others must keep their abilities carefully hidden.
